Nutrient Life Group of Companies in collaboration with management of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) Bakery, following a public-private partnership aimed at ensuring a steady supply of high-quality, locally produced bread and pastries for students and staff. The new face of the bakery was commissioned on Monday 2nd March 2025 with key university officials present to mark the occasion.
At the event, Mr Michael Olorode, CEO and Founder of Nutrient Life Group, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to enhancing food security and maintaining high production standards. “This partnership goes beyond just producing bread; it is about ensuring quality, nutrition, and accessibility for the university community,” he said. “We are dedicated to keeping the bakery running efficiently and consistently to meet the demand of over 4,000 students living on campus.”
To support the initiative, FUNAAB’s Environmental Unit has introduced new regulations restricting the sale of externally sourced bread on campus. This measure ensures that only products from the university bakery are available, helping to maintain quality control and sustainability.
The commissioning ceremony was attended by Vice-Chancellor Professor Babatunde Kehinde, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development) Professor Kola Adebayo, Director of FUNAAB Integrated Ventures Olufisayo Amubode, and Deputy Registrar (DVC Development’s Office) Folasade Giwa, among others.
Nutrient Life Group, known for its innovative approach to food production, views this collaboration as part of a broader effort to drive sustainability, improve nutrition, and enhance food access within educational institutions and across African communities.
