Abeokuta North Local Government Unveils Trade, Investment, and Foreign Mission Committee

In a strategic move to boost internally generated revenue (IGR) and foster economic prosperity, the Lanre Oyegbola-Sodipo-led administration of Abeokuta North Local Government has announced the appointment of key stakeholders to its newly formed Trade, Investment, and Foreign Mission Committee.

The committee, composed of professionals with vast experience in finance, management, and stakeholder engagement, is tasked with positioning Abeokuta North as a hub for foreign direct investment (FDI) and fostering city-to-city collaborations.

The appointed members of the committee are:

  1. Hon. Muyiwa Fajinmi – Chairman

  2. Agba Akin Moruff Adenekan – Secretary

  3. Salau Oluwatosin Modupe – Member

  4. Hon. Jamiu Osoba – Member

  5. Mrs. Monsurat Busayo Makanjuola – Member

  6. Engr. Muyis Davies – Member

According to a statement from the council chairman, the committee will report directly to the Office of the Chairman and is scheduled to be inaugurated on Wednesday, March 5, 2025.

The committee’s mandate includes, but is not limited to:

  • Driving economic growth and investment within Abeokuta North Local Government.

  • Leveraging the geographical and economic strengths of the council area to attract FDI.

  • Establishing strategic city-to-city partnerships to enhance trade and development.

  • Facilitating collaborations with local and international investors to boost key economic sectors.

Speaking on the formation of the committee, Chairman Lanre Oyegbola-Sodipo reiterated his administration’s commitment to sustainable economic development and global integration. He emphasized that the new initiative is in line with his vision of transforming Abeokuta North into a thriving economic hub capable of attracting both local and international business opportunities.
