Odogbolu Local Government Chairman Commission Donated Borehole and Water Reservoir

Odogbolu Local Government Chairman, Hon. Ladejobi Shuaib, on Saturday, July 1st, 2023, commissioned a donated borehole and water reservoir by Alhaji Luqmon Adeleke Idowu, a philanthropist and businessman to the Odo community, Odogbolu Local Government Area of Ogun State.

The commissioning ceremony was attended by community leaders, Tobalase Akile Ijebu Odogbolu members,Olusola Bamgboye,Area Sales Manager Ogun State, Viju Industries Ltd, and other stakeholders.

Speaking during the event, he said that he built and donated the borehole and water reservoir in a bid to empower the members of the community to have access to clean water and prevent waterborne diseases and to complement the activities of the Hon. Ladejobi Shuaib led Local Government administration.

He thanked God for making him see another year, adding that he will continue to do philanthropy as long as he lives.

Speaking at the commissioning and handing over event, the Executive Chairman of Odogbolu Local Government, Hon Ladejobi Shuiab who was represented by Hon. Taira Adebanjo, Special Assistant on Political and Women Affairs, said “our administration is  committed to providing safe and reliable water for all, and this philanthropic project by Alhaji Luqmon Adeleke Idowu is a significant step in that direction in complementing our targeted water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) construction projects in bringing clean water and hygiene facilities closer to the residents.”

“I am grateful to Alhaji Adeleke Luqmon Idowu aka Alhaji Viju on this project and for complementing our administration efforts and I am confident that this borehole and water reservoir will make a positive difference in the lives of the people of Odo Community”, Hon Ladejobi Shuiab concludes.

Alhaja Folashade Oshiyemi, The Iya Egbe Tobalase Akile Odogbolu, lauded the donor, adding that the facilities will reduce the incidence of waterborne diseases in the community and It is also a reminder of the importance of public-private partnerships in providing essential services to communities.

Also speaking at the event, Hon. Oluwaseun Oguntade, the founder of Hon. Oluwaseun Adekunmi (HOA) Foundation, praised Alhaji Luqmon Idowu for constructing and donating the borehole and water reservoir to the community and called on members of the community to maintain the facilities properly and called on other public-spirited people to engage in philanthropy in order to empower others.
