2023: APC Will Flip Adamawa State - APC National Youth Leader Boasts As He Receives Hundreds Of PDP Defectors, Donates To Flood Victims
The National Youth Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Dayo Israel, has boasted of the party’s readiness to flip Adamawa State after receiving hundreds of defectors who dumped the PDP in the state for the APC during a visit which was part of his ongoing nationwide youth mobilization and energizing tour.
Dayo Israel arrived Adamawa State earlier in the week where, together with the members of the State Working Committee of the party, he led various grassroots voter mobilization efforts targeted at young people, in addition to humanitarian interventions, including the formal acceptance of new defectors from the PDP and condolence visits to areas affected by floods where he made cash and food donations.
Receiving the defectors at the party’s Secretariat in Yola, the National Youth Leader said it was only the beginning of an APC ascendancy in the state which would see the party not only secure the majority number of votes during the presidential election in February 2023, but also claim the governorship position presently held by the PDP.
He said “Adamawa State will be a major chapter in the story of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s emergence as the next President of Nigeria in 2023. It will be said of him that his popularity was so great, and his victory so total, that even the home state of his major contender deemed him better deserving of the nation’s highest office, and rightly so. Because of you, your efforts, and Asiwaju’s many great plans for the people of Adamawa, I know that we will flip this state next year.”
He also praised the defectors over what he described as their “act of courage, sincerity, and patriotism” while also encouraging them to convince more of their family members, neighbours, and friends to make the same switch because a vote for the APC and Bola Tinubu will deliver better governance and political outcomes for Adamawa State, according to him.
Dayo Israel visited Demsa, Numan, Fufure, Yola North, Yola South, and Girei - all areas affected by the flood sweeping parts of the country due to climate change - to meet and condole with victims. He made donations of cash and other relief items, including food, thus continuing a streak of widely-praised humanitarian interventions since he embarked on the tour, having made similar donations in Yobe, Jigawa, and Katsina among others to victims of social problems including insecurity.
During his visit to Numan LG, a traditional Christian community in Adamawa State, he reassured the people of the APC and Asiwaju’s concern and prioritization of their needs, while also encouraging them not to despair as “help is on the way” - echoing the presidential candidate’s mantra.
Citing Biblical texts which emphasize God’s enduring love and faithfulness to humans, particularly those in difficult circumstances, he urged them not to lose hope or give in to the bleakness of their present situation.
Dayo also shared the story of his academic journey to England as a beneficiary of a scholarship offered by Bola Tinubu, noting that the former Lagos governor’s generosity had come at a time his parent couldn’t afford his education and he was on the verge of losing hope.
“When God is your shepherd, he raises help from unimaginable places,” he said.
