Bounce Tops Nigerian Google Play Store Downloads

In less than seven months after its launch, the Bounce News Application is now rated as the number one app on the Google play store in Nigeria. 

This confirms its status as a market leader in its segment. 

The Bounce News App, which was conceived to provide people-oriented news for the Nigerian audience, earned more downloads on play store ahead of other international social media apps.

Commenting on the success story of Bounce.ng, the General Manager of the news platform, Goodluck Ikporo said the rating is another milestone for Bounce as it has become a one-stop online spot for Nigerian and international news. 

He added that Bounce has enjoyed that level of download on Google play store because the app is very user friendly and has both online and offline functionality. “The App does not need so much space on mobile phone and it takes a few seconds to download. Also, you can save stories you want to read offline. The app is easy to use and quite effective. That's ourconcept,” Mr. Ikporo said. 

The GM also noted that the platform is dedicated to delivering daily inspiring and relevant stories that are tailored to empower the Nigerian news consumers and while giving them a voice in the polity. 

By studying search patterns and activities on social media to know the kind of stories that interest its readers, Bounce News can make recommendations while transforming basic information into applied intelligence.  

“When you first launch BOUNCE, you’ll be given the option to select which interests you prefer to follow. This defines the initial set of content BOUNCE will show to you. BOUNCE will look at your profiles and the content you have publicly shared to find additional interests that could be relevant to you. Basically, it is your news, your style in your hands 24/7.”
