Bebe Clement Reading The Citation For The Lifetime Achievement Award
Instinct Wave Group once again celebrates the excellence, creativity and achievements of marketing icons in Africa and beyond with its fourth MarketingWorld Awards (MWA) held recently at Oriental Hotel Lekki, Nigeria.
This year’s fourth MarketingWorld Awards took an interesting twist with an awardee within the age bracket of Kola Oyeyemi receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award.
Kola Oyeyemi, General Manager Business Development (MTN sales and distribution/ President of Advertisers Association of Nigeria ADVAN) was honoured with the MarketingWorld Lifetime Achievement with Lampe Omoyele, Africa Marketing Director Glaxosmithkline Consumer Healthcare (GSK) taking home the Industry Personality Of The Year award.
This year’s Marketing Professional of The Year Award went to Kachi Onubogu, Commercial Director of Promasidor Nigeria.
The night rose to a crescendo as it recognised the tremendous investments these three celebrated icons had contributed in the marketing space with their extraordinary marketing intelligence.
Speaking at the ceremony, Group Publisher of Marketing World Magazine and Chief Executive Officer of Instinct Wave, Akin Naphtal, said gone are the days when a Lifetime Achievement Awardee must necessarily be on the “Old Side”.
“Being youthful does not mean you can’t be an icon or a road mapper in an industry. Meaningful and impactful contributions are the qualities that matters most,” he said.
Industry analysts praised Instinct Wave and the organisers of the Award for the determined departure from what has been regarded as a norm for the Lifetime Achievement Award.
Presenting the awards, Mr Rufai Ladipo, Managing Director Agile Communications, also a former President of AAAN, said the awardees deserved the awards; looking at their various contributions into the industry growth and relevance in the country’s economy.
